Description
The Basics of Marxism is an introductory course to all things Marxism. Over 10 weeks, students will learn the common misconceptions about what Marxism is, what a world outlook is, and the world outlook commonly called Marxism or dialectical materialism. A big focus is laid on the ideological mistakes inherent in the way we are commonly taught to learn things by our ruling class in their institutions, and its methods of memorization routines, which is overcome by the understanding gained through the dialectical and materialist nature of Marxism. By the end of the last class, students will have a good grasp on the worldview of Marxism, and the ability to perform their own Marxist analysis rather than memorize the conclusions of one thinker or another.
Requirements and Evaluations
There are no requirements for this class other than the general “tuition” paid through Selfy. This
is an introductory course, which will be a requirement for other courses in the future. There are
no evaluations, as emphasis is put on learning and understanding, but students will be encouraged to write a final essay over the last few weeks of the course, explaining their understanding of what Marxism is and comparing it to where it was in the first class.
